Fairbanks Morse Defense and Maxim have been designing and manufacturing heat exchangers for water treatment and water handling equipment for over 70 years. Maxim offers shell & tube and plate-type heat exchangers.
- Material of construction include, but are not limited to:
- 90/10 CuNi
- 70/30 CuNi
- Titanium
- Other materials as may be required.
- For 90/10 CuNi seamless tubing:
- 5/8 – 18 BWG to 20 BWG
- 3/8 – 20 BWG to 22 BWG
- Other sizes as may be required.
- Currently, Maxim manufactures tube bundles up to 34” x 27” x 88”. The tube bundle pictured below is 32” Dia. X 56”, weighing 1,400 lbs. Maxim has the ability to manufacture heat exchangers that exceed this size based on the technical specifications provided.

Our heat recovery evaporators utilise waste heat to make high quality potable water from seawater, brackish water or contaminated feed water sources. The HJ Series is made of five models, with fresh water capacities ranging from 192 to 3,000 gallons per day.
- Perfect for pleasure boats or small work boats, yachts, cruisers, tug boats, fishing boats, survey vessels, offshore drilling and production platforms, offshore supply vessels, USCG and USN vessels, and many other applications.
- Utilizes waste heat, reducing operating costs since little new energy generation is needed.
- Environmentally friendly since energy is conserved and there are no membranes or filters to replace or dispose of.
Our heat recovery evaporators utilise waste heat to make high quality potable water from seawater, brackish water or contaminated feed water sources. The TCF Series is made up of five models, with fresh water capacities ranging from 3,700 to 15,000 gallons per day.
- Perfect for larger cruisers, tugs, fishing boats, survey vessels, and offshore production platforms.
- Utilizes waste heat, reducing operating costs since little new energy generation is needed.
- Thermo circulation design minimizes scaling and lowers maintenance costs.
- Environmentally friendly since energy is conserved and there are no membranes or filters to replace or dispose of.
Federal Equipment Company has emerged as a leader in supplying, repairing and installing vertical rolling doors for both the United States Coast Guard and Navy. Federal Equipment Company supplies all repair parts for the helicopter hangar doors either directly from the OEM or manufactured in-house to exceed OEM requirements.
FMD is the Navy’s trusted choice for specialised hoists supporting weapons and cargo handling on aircraft carriers and amphibious ships.
-
Low headroom trolley-type pneumatic hoists developed by FEC resolved a fleet-wide obsolescence issue and are widely used for weapons assembly and transfer.
-
Hoists undergo extreme qualification testing, including shock and vibration.
-
Options include manual chain hoists, electric hoists, wire rope or chain types, available in a range of capacities and lifts.
-
Accessories such as pendant controls, monorails, turntables, and track clamps are also available.
-
All hoist systems are tested and certified in accordance with applicable naval specifications.

One of the more notable features on FEC’s Advanced Weapons Elevator (AWE) system is the first fully qualified Human Machine Interface (HMI) Operator Stations. These unique panels are the first touchscreens implemented on an aircraft carrier that have successfully undergone all the exhaustive tests to meet EMI, shock, and vibration requirements necessary for use in a shipboard weapons systems. The HMI provides a user friendly multi-screen interface while allowing more panels and data to be displayed at multiple deck locations simultaneously in a much more compact space relative to traditional panels. The software based HMI application also permits added flexibility, troubleshooting and maintenance capabilities. Adaptable for use in other material and weapons handling systems, the HMI operator stations increase ship’s force control and communication as well as system monitoring and diagnostics to maximize operational functionality and readiness.
Indicating lamps for integration into panels, controllers, and other systems where space efficiency and reliability are critical. Available in multiple configurations, they provide dependable performance in demanding environments.

Brand: Hunt Valve Isolation valves are required for positive shut-off of portions of the descale system during system maintenance. The valves are located at the pump discharge, the accumulator discharge and the descale spray valve header lines. While these valves are only required to be closed for maintenance, they must also perform for leak tight shut-off when needed. Manual Isolation Valves Hunt Valve’s manual isolation valve is similar in design to the Mega-Flo B descale valve, retaining the heavy-duty body construction and the sliding plunger on standard isolation valves with flow in only one direction. This provides the most positive seal and minimizes any leakage. Our isolation valves are available in 2-10 inch sizes. The vertical installation is suggested to permit overhead access for preventative maintenance on the valve. Isolation valves are available with direct manual hand-wheel operation or with an electrical motor operator. The electrical motor operator version is equipped with a manual hand-wheel override.
