Rachel Wong Joins Female Entrepreneurship Panel at Hawksford Event

Marunda’s Founder and Managing Director Rachel Wong recently joined a distinguished panel discussion on female entrepreneurship, co-hosted by Hawksford, the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Singapore, and the Central and Eastern European Chamber of Commerce (CEEC).

The event, held at Hawksford’s Singapore office, brought together industry leaders from Oysterly Media, Sedno Food, and LifeOnFastForward, with the conversation moderated by Erika Sirimanne, Head of Business Development, Tech, at New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE). The session focused on overcoming key challenges faced by women entrepreneurs and the evolving landscape of female-led ventures.

According to the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2023/24 report, women now account for roughly two in five export-oriented ventures across 30 countries — a strong indicator of growing momentum in female-led businesses.

Rachel shared insights on the importance of authentic, face-to-face networking in building trust and meaningful business relationships, noting:

“Exchange name cards, shake hands, go for a coffee. First cup of tea, second, third, fourth—and eventually, your products or services can be sold.”

She emphasised that personal interactions are irreplaceable, even in a tech-driven world.

“This event is the perfect kind of networking. Don’t miss any of these personal interactions—they’re so important.”

Marunda is proud to support conversations that elevate women in business and looks forward to more platforms that champion diversity and entrepreneurship.
