Marunda Strengthens Indo-Pacific Naval Partnerships at IMDEX Asia 2025

Marunda marked a dynamic presence at IMDEX Asia 2025, forging key defence partnerships and expanding its strategic footprint in the Indo-Pacific. The maritime defence and engineering exhibition served as the backdrop for several landmark Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), reflecting Marunda’s growing role in regional naval sustainment and collaboration.

Strategic MOU with Chief Fluid Systems

Marunda signed a collaborative MOU with Chief Fluid Systems Pty Ltd, a trusted Hydrasearch agent for Australia and the wider region. The agreement enables Chief Fluid Systems to bring its proven UNREP (Underway Replenishment) servicing and support capabilities into the Indo-Pacific.

“This partnership provides persistent presence and responsiveness where our customers operate,” said Rachel Wong, Founder and CEO of Marunda. “It’s our brand of maritime diplomacy in action.”

Expeditionary Support Alliance with Halliday Engineering

Marunda also formalised a partnership with Halliday Engineering, combining Halliday’s legacy of marine engineering with Marunda’s regional presence. The MOU paves the way for joint naval expeditionary repair and maintenance efforts to support Royal Australian Navy and allied forces across the Indo-Pacific.

“This agreement underscores our shared commitment to sovereign capability, technical excellence, and regional responsiveness,” both parties noted.

Underwater Sustainment Collaboration with Franmarine

In a third key MOU, Marunda partnered with Franmarine, a leader in underwater biofouling management and sustainment technologies. The partnership brings Franmarine’s dry-docking alternative services to Indo-Pacific waters, enhancing operational readiness without vessel removal from service.

Franmarine CEO Adam Falconer-West stated, “Together, we are committed to keeping allied ships and submarines in service at sea.” Rachel Wong added, “This is exactly the right time and team to bring this sovereign Australian capability to our region under the Marunda flag.”

Promoting Guam as a Strategic Hub
Marunda was also proud to have Doyon Ahn Morato, Director of Operations and Strategic Development for Marunda Defense Services Limited (Guam), in attendance. Doyon championed Guam as a prime location for naval expeditionary maintenance, citing its strategic location, skilled workforce, and deep-rooted defence heritage.
